The space also includes a hydraulic platform so the instructors bike can raise up to allow the upper levels to get a good view
The 1Rebel Ethos and in fact part of the design brief from Owners James Balfour & Giles Dean was to create the Ultimate Experience and to contine the ‘King of Gyms’ This studio was to be the brands Largest and become the Pinnacle of the ever growing 1Rebel Portfolio

Technical Details

After a successful demonstration at d&b audiotechnic uk headquarters the sound system quickly became the first uk installation of a d&b audiotechnic soundscape. This is a mukti channel Surround Sound system on a scale never seen before in the UK
The studio contains over 50 loudspeakers from the xS-Series all driven discreetly from d&b 10d and 30d amplifiers
Speaker processing is handled by the amplifiers and surround sound processing is handled in a number of ways depending on the source via the new d&b ds100 dsp unit
Soundweb blu-860 and blu-100 units handle all the analog and digital inputs and outputs the signal chain is completely digital utilising either Dante or aes/ebu and only converted to analog at the final stage in the amplifiers
Custom multi channel audio content is created for instructors for their signature class.
The lighting system is equally impressive a huge truss over the main space is home to a massive selection of fixtures, including Clay Paky Shar Bars, Clay Paky Axcor, Chauvet Colorado 1 Solos and Colorado 2 Solos with over 100 fixtures.
Durham Marenghi brought in ER Productions to design and supply a custom laser system based around their Cyclone as seen in Zayn Malik’s Like I Would music music video
Behind the instructor is a huge led video wall with custom content controlled by the Madrix control software on a powerhouse of a PC
All of the lighting, lasers and video wall is then controlled by 8 universes of DMX fed from Showcad Artist 3 with custom feature upgrades programmed by Dean Osborne
The control of such a complex installation has to be extremely simple and the goal was to produce theatre quality light shows with no lighting jockey
The whole Lighting system is operated from a touch screen with most operations only requiring 1 or 2 touches
With signature programs running in sync with the music
For guidance on programming Saul Ramson-Williams was heavily involved with this aspect with a lot of support from Mick Martin and Rowland Hughs at Showcad Control Systems
