The brief was simple from the 1Rebel team, make this the most advanced audio-visual installation ever undertaken in a gym. Audio perfection coupled with effects lighting of touring grade performance standard, to make this the ultimate customer workout.
The multi-level, late-night atmosphere spin studio venue required something special to ensure that the customers embarking on their high energy workouts realized they were in for an immersive, multi-sensory experience.
Spin studio
World renowned audio experts d&b audiotechnik were brought into the fold as they had previously worked alongside us on audio solutions for other high-profile venues including 1Rebel venues, which required the pinnacle of sonic performance that d&b offer. A selection of 8s, 10s and 10s-D speakers provide the main fill and delay for the studio, whilst the incredible 21S and 27S subs provide the necessary low frequency support. The complete full range audio output is controlled and processed by the dedicated BSS open architecture digital design software, and Blu860 signal processor.
To create the maximum customer experience a patented Soundscape 360 degree audio solution was installed permanently in a UK venue for the first-time, the DS100 Dante enabled signal engine was used to control the additional 26no. d&b 5S speakers installed across the main studio floor and mezzanine level. These speakers combined with the main fill speakers create an encapsulating sound experience no matter which part of the Spin studio the customers are situated in for their Spin session, an audio experience like no other.
All amplification was provided for the studio by d&b in the shape of their dedicated 10D or 30D amplifiers, the En-scene software was used to design the bespoke Soundscape studio audio programming required.
Effects lighting for the Spin studio had to also be of a breathtaking level to meet the expectations of the 1Rebel team, therefore the 1Rebel team consulted with Durham Marenghi @ Durhamld limited and MSL for the concept to become a reality.
No fewer than 25no. ClayPaky lighting fixtures including Axcor Spot moving heads and SharBars were installed, along with over 60no. Chauvet Colorado Zoom effects for show stopping visual impact. The astonishing accompanying light shows are controlled by the instructor via an intuitive Elo Touchscreen mounted on their hydraulic bike podium, this is linked to the 8-Universe Showcad main PC control system again bespoke programmed by MSL to suit all their needs.
The backdrop to the instructor podium is a breath-taking arena sized 20 screen Chauvet Vivid4 LED Pixel wall, the video sequences are set to enhance the customer experience further by leading them into the 1Rebel psyche. The video wall is driven by the matching Chauvet Vivid driver system programmed by MSL, controlled via a dedicated Madrix Professional PC system.
Peripheral Areas
All other customer areas requiring audio on site including male/female changing rooms and walkways have been installed with world renowned Martin Audio CDD6 speakers, this ultra-compact wide dispersion speaker solution offers the optimum clarity of sound at suitable levels with ease. The audio output for these areas is controlled and processed by a stand-alone dedicated BSS digital processor, this time in the shape of a Blu100 with remote source and volume controls with Powersoft amplification providing the necessary excellent audio signal quality.
The visually striking reception area has another bespoke MSL design installation, in the form of 227 wall mounted LED halo rings. Each individual LED ring was hand crafted and installed by our team, illumination of the rings is controlled and programmed via the dedicated rack-mounted Madrix Neo and Showcad PC system.
Commercial 75” Samsung displays mounted via Unicol engineering systems adorn the entrance area, providing arriving customers the necessary class information and advertising space for the 1Rebel brand. Matching 55” Samsung commercial display screens are installed in both changing room areas to keep customers up to date with all necessary information.
