Broadcast Audio Solution for the Conran Store London
Middlesex Sound & Lighting have completed a broadcast quality audio installation at the flagship Conran store in London.
Working towards the new “Head Zone” display, head of Visual Marketing Betsy Smith and Group Head of IT Sal Usmani began discussions with MSL project Manager Bradley Watson to offer a solution to provide the audio reference to a quantity of Audiophile headphones, all to be displayed on a custom cabinet, and where each set required remote and independent gain controls.
With headphones including items from Ultrasone and Zumreed, the audio source levels and quality was paramount, so Watson opted for the Sonifex RB-HD1 headphone amplifiers, with a Sonifex RB-DA6 distribution amplifier providing the balanced audio signals to each of headphone amplifiers. These high end broadcast units provided the facility for remote monitoring via RS232 ports and audio signal cable to the individual gain pots, all located in a bespoke clear acrylic panel supplied by Conran.
Source media was provided by a high end HI-FI iPod docks also supplied by Conran.
