Following the success at the Clapham site, the Hed Kandi brand has now opened their flagship bar in Brighton. The former Luminar Leisure site on West Street in the City’s bustling Lanes area is now home to Hed Kandi’s largest bar concept to date.

 

MSL have again delivered a comprehensive high impact Martin Audio sound system throughout the Brighton venue, with the system managed by BSS Soundweb London. DJ’s are well catered for in the centrally located booth with Pioneer 3 CDJ2000’s a DJM800 and Allen & Heath patch bay.

 

Set over 2 floors, with a main bar on the ground floor and a shooter bar located in the basement close to the opulent washrooms – The overall design mirrors the Hed Kandi ethos of modern vibrant bar and club culture in a fantastic setting.

 

Part of the Ministry of Sound Group of companies, Hed Kandi has become a globally recognised brand with club events all over the world and a huge music catalogue over many dance music genres. Keen to establish the brand in Brighton, the new site on West Street is sure to be one of if not THE best bar venue in town.

 

Julian Taylor Associates were responsible for the overall design; the finished article is stunning, and sure to wow the thousands that are expected through the doors in the coming months.

Lighting-wise, over 600m linear metres of high output LED tape, 80 driver box controllers, 50 MR16 LED TRI colour down lighters and 8 compact Chauvet QSPOT 160 LED moving head fixtures were utilised to make the whole venue change colour seamlessly. The bespoke Hed Kandi logo within the DJ booth was also illuminated using Abstract AVR link LED high output units to constantly wash colour across the logo.

 

The entire lighting system, from the architectural LED to the ceiling mounted moving heads are were all programmed and managed by a Showcad Artist 512 control system, with a 19” touch screen display monitor and an Edirol MIDI keyboard for instant scene and sequence recall. 

 

The complete package will see the new flagship site for Hed Kandi as THE premier bar venue in Brighton.
